Movenpick has announced plans for a new property in Ras al-Khaimah.

Movenpick Resort Al Marjan Island will be located on the emirate’s US$1.8 billion man-made archipelago, and will offer 430 rooms and 120 serviced apartments.

Details of the hotel are limited at this stage, but Movenpick says the property is scheduled to open in 2019, and “will boast a prime beachfront location, offering guests unrivalled views of the Arabian Gulf and the picturesque Ras al-Khaimah coastline”.

Al Marjan Island is a group of four man-made, coral shaped islands. Several hotels have already opened on the archipelago, including the DoubleTree by Hilton Resort and Spa Marjan Island, and Rixos Bab al Bahr.

The islands are located around 30km from Ras al-Khaimah International airport, and around 75km from Dubai International.
