From biophilic design to eco-conscious meeting packages, planet-friendly initiatives abound at Pan Pacific Hotels Group’s PARKROYAL COLLECTION

Business travellers are increasingly looking for ways to reduce their impact on the planet without compromising on quality. This means finding eco-friendly places to meet and stay that also deliver exceptional stays.

With a passion and commitment to delivering sustainable hospitality through its three distinct brands: Pan Pacific, PARKROYAL COLLECTION and PARKROYAL, global hospitality company Pan Pacific Hotels Group is ideally suited to responsible travellers.

The PARKROYAL COLLECTION is the group’s premier brand in such matters, with “Eco Wellness” at the heart of its “Lifestyle Luxury” concept, proving that modern luxury and sustainability go
hand in hand.

Leading in eco luxury

This ethos focuses on promoting the benefits of personal wellbeing and environmental responsibility in a number of ways. Spectacular biophilic design helps to connect guests with nature, while a focus on the five senses improves guests’ awareness and emotional wellbeing. Conscious consumption is driven through methods such as growing organic ingredients in-house, while restful sleep is nurtured through initiatives such as the Sleep Ritual turndown service, featuring a tea set and scented pillow pouch.

Guests can unwind amid verdant design spaces where plants take centre stage, functioning as natural air purifiers and creating a “hotel in a garden” feel. Guests can also savour dining experiences showcasing organic produce grown on rooftop gardens and sumptuous spa experiences that incorporate natural ingredients to rejuvenate body and mind.

Additional green initiatives include the use of solar panels to power all guest lifts and emergency lights, filtered water systems in all guest rooms, glass bottles instead of plastic and motion sensors to intelligently manage lighting and cooling to save energy.

Green meetings

Sustainably-minded business travellers are further served by Pan Pacific Hotels Group’s new Meet Lite, Feels Right initiative. Whether it’s paper flip charts or disposable cups for coffee breaks, meetings can create a lot of waste. Meet Lite, Feels Right has been designed to offer the perfect solution for delegates that are looking to achieve their sustainability goals and minimise their carbon footprint.

This green meeting package includes a farm-to-table working lunch, featuring locally-sourced ingredients and plant-based meat alternatives for all attendees. Single-use plastics are replaced with filtered water in carafes, and participants can help themselves to writing materials as and when needed at stationery ‘stations’, to prevent unnecessary paper wastage. What’s more, writing pads are printed on recycled paper and delegates are issued with bamboo pens instead of standard biros constructed from plastic.
