What happened to Turkish Airlines A320 today?

    There are news reports of a TK A320 incident at IST this morning. Seems like a heavy landing, followed by a go-around with the right engine visibly on fire and then landed with the fire still burning. Not nice.

    There are several photos and videos on airline.net. Fortunately it would appear there were no fatalities.

    Thanks all.

    @SimonS1 I agree it is getting worrying. They have had a massive expansion over the past 2 years which might be leading to a dilution of experience and capability.

    On the face of it it does seem THY is having a hard time, but this week according to avherald.com THY had just one incident compared to Delta’s five!

    If you type in the search box an airlines name, after a full page of results you do wonder if you’ll ever fly again!
