Published: 07/11/2011 - Filed under: News »
Marriott will open the 168-room Courtyard by Marriott New York Manhattan / Herald Square next year, housed within the former Atlantic Bank of New York building.
The 17-storey property dates back to 1928, and is situated on the northeast corner of 6th Avenue and 35th Street.
The hotel’s lobby will be located on the 3rd floor, with retail space on the ground floor, and rooms occupying floors four to 17.
In-room facilities will include free wifi internet access, and a “modern loveseat sofa that also doubles as a pullout bed”.
The hotel’s lobby area will feature GoBoard Technology – a 55-inch touchscreen TV offering local information, maps, weather and news headlines.
The property is located close to Macy’s department store, and a couple of blocks east of Penn Station.
The hotel will be Marriott’s seventh Courtyard property in New York City, and the group’s 33rd hotel in total across the boroughs of Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.
