Spent a few days there in January. I did some sightseeing in Southern Lebanon (Tyre, Sidon etc). The main motorway goes through Hezbola areas but no obvious signs of anything military – apart from a UN vehicle.

Beirut itself is constantly modernising with much building work taking place. Areas towards Baalbeck are more risky, as is Tripoli.

I arranged a driver to/from the airport to my hotel, as well as for all the sightseeing.
