I went to the toilets at Heathrow and found them to be clean and tidy.

Would I go again? – YES

Would I recommend them to others? – YES

I went after a Costa Coffee – apparently it’s all part of the E2E experience.

Really KarlMarx, if you are going to give a review can you at least provide us with a bit more detail?! I don’t want to know anything personal about this visit but at least which of the 5 terminals and on which level you are now talking about for this toilet visit?

From today I understand about a good Costa in Dubai Terminal 1, Concourse 1 and I also know I can get a fruit salad from Munich Terminal 2, but I have no idea which toilets at Heathrow I can use.

I expect more from an experienced and knowledgeable forum contributor such as yourself 😉

My LHR-DXB via MUC is on hold until further information.

It was a while ago, but, in the old BAA days, there were signs in T2 gents toilets which read “these toilets are for departing passengers only”………….so if you were bursting after a long landing hold, you were in trouble……….

    Dear TravelWise,

If you are a gent, then you can use any of the Gents Toilets at Heathrow (Terminals 1 through 5, inclusive).

If you are a lady, then you should instead use any of the Ladies Toilets there.

This discrimination against trans gender people must stop.

…There is no discrimination but a dilemma of which facility to use…and whether you would use said facilities again…I guess it’s a bit like buying shoes…

Having experienced the gents in T1, specifically the facilities opposite Gate 8 A , your reference to shoe’s is very apt……..I would not recommend Flip-flops or similar, nor would I recommend those comfy favourite shoes that you can’t bear to bin, so comfy that even the hole in the soul is worth enduring……So…

Would I go again? – YES it saves embarrassment and dry cleaning needlessly
Would I recommend them to others? – NO

Having experienced the toilets opposite Costa Coffee Dubai Arrivals…suede shoes are a definite ‘no no’ in fact wellies would be the correct attire (although some may wear ugg boots)….I’ve seen better facilities at Glastonbury/T in the Park – I kid you not….

The toilets adjacent to Concorde/First check in at T4 were suitably signposted. And also in Braille. I had visions of sojeone in need going all around the terminal with fingers dancing on the wall!!

@syclik5 You do seem to be inferring that you have checked and are now vouching for the condition of every toilet at Heathrow?! I am not sure that is the case and now I cannot trust such reviews 😉

I will change my flight to Gatwick: LGW-DXB via MUC

I will start a new thread in the coming days as “Gatwick South Gents”

(although I think that means I have to do LGW-MUC on easyjet? Now I have a real dilemma)

while on the subject of toilets here is my review of the Iberia A321 gents toilets. I usually only use the foreward toilets and seem to have to share them with the flight crew on occasions. I would have thought they would have seperate staff toilets but in the case of the A321 it is not the case. They have a door with a lock, a small toilet with suction type emptying mechanism. It makes a wooshing sound that initially seems to be the alarming sound of the aircraft decompressing, then one realises that reassuringly the oxygen mask has not dropped down and it is in fact the Dyson toilet at work. It has a small sink and if your lucky on an early morning flight some soap and paper towels. No Dyson hand dryer in sight. If on a later flight then you may have to do without the soap and paper towels, the crew have used them all. Helpfully there is a little sign in the toilet telling me I should not smoke, so I have a few puffs on my eciggy instead. There is no condom machine nor a machine that sells those little one time toothpaste ball things that I tried once and detested. There is a mirror.
Strangely, I have seen women use the gents toilets on the A321 when they have perfectly serviceable toilets of their own at the back.
