Unfortunately not. You can only make Avios bookings for yourself and other members of your household account.

You could add her to your account, use the miles, and then remove her 6 months later which is the minimum time she can join your household account for.

YOU DON’T NEED TO HAVE ANY HOUSEHOLD ACCOUNT.IT EVEN COSTS YOU MORE!ON YOUR OWN AVIOS PAGE YOU CAN MAKE THE BOOKING -THERE WILL BE A QUESTION “IS THIS BOOKING FOR YOU ?YES/NO.BY STATING NO YOU ARE ASKED THE NAME OF THE PASSENGER,AND THAT’S IT.THE MILES GO OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT AS YOU MAKE THE PAYMENT!ATT.YOU MAY HAVE TO USE HER OWN CREDIT/DEBIT CARD AS BA MAY REQUIRE TO SEE IT UPON CHECK IN

TheMidasGold has given incorrect information, CharlesQ.

jayjay is on the money; the only issue is your mother being able to produce the credit card used to book the flight/pay the taxes.

Why not treat her the Club World London City – a snip at 80,000 Avios round trip!

If you’re flying exLUX, you may well find it’s cost-effective to actually pay for a ticket in a sale; I’d be surprised if something similar to the £1000 per person rtn in Club sale fares don’t emerge after the Olympics, alongside the second half of the “Don’t Fly” campaign, cunningly entitled “Fly”.

I’m holding back my leisure bookings for Christmas and early 2012; Beirut is on the cards!

My information was correct. It used to ask you if the cardholder was travelling but it no longer does this for Avios bookings.

When you get to the final page your exec club details are automatically filled in and it does not allow you to change passenger details.

    Give it a go.

    CharlesQ said:

she is not a member of my household account

Hence, what TheMidasGold said was correct.

I think jayjay007 was shouting the answer to a different question.
You do NOT need to have a household account to redeem for others.
However, if you do have a household account then you can ONLY redeem for members of the household. The post by CharlesQ suggests they infact already are in a household account, and not that they were asking if they needed one.

Not been able to use my BA upgrade voucher in time so after a quick email to BAEC, a 6 month extenstion.

Made me wonder why the upgrade vouchers are time limited – why dont they have the same validity period as Avios??

VK – Sounds like you’re looking forward to trying out (and scooping the review for the new Medium Haul Seats. If that’s the case I’m looking forward to the reading it, and a destination report. If you’re not familiar with them already check out some of the Lebanese wines, they’re a little different and well made – Ch Musar (obviously) Massaya and Ch Ksara. I’m juggling the idea of a ski-ing, wine trip after Xmas.

Usual Gripe – no doubt instant reply from VK. Since you can now get Avios with fish fingers from Tescos redemption miles bookings are as rare as hens teeth.
