Tried and Tested: QDOS Jet Set iPhone case

15 Jan 2010 by Jenny Southan

QDOS Jet Set iPhone caseMP3 accessories specialist QDOS has come up with the Jet Set case for the iPhone. The smooth, black, dockable hard shell – made from scratch-resistant matte rubber – blends well with the handset. For the brand-conscious, a round hole on the back allows the Apple logo to show. There is also one for the camera lens. The additional space for the Jet Pen stylus is discrete and well incorporated into the design.

The set-up wasn’t tricky. The two parts – top and bottom – click in easily, and are easy to separate again by pressing a small button on the back. However, the stylus comes with a rather clumsy screen-wipe pad on a small lanyard, which I removed within minutes.

The Jet Set case and stylus may make converting to the iPhone easier for those used to handheld devices with styluses but, ultimately, it feels unnecessary. The case is good in itself, but then, there are plenty of other options when it comes to iPhone cases that would serve just as well. Saying that, I am using it on a daily basis.

Pros The case looks good and provides decent protection to the phone. The stylus means that you can operate the phone without needing to take your gloves off, which has proven to be a huge bonus this winter, and can be handy when eating and trying to avoid getting greasy finger marks on the screen.

Cons The screen seems to be less responsive to the stylus, meaning that you need to press firmly to make the device respond, when using your finger feels light and easy.
