Tried and Tested: Minuet Magicbox DAB/FM radio

1 Apr 2011 by AndrewGough

The recently launched Minuet is a handy little FM/DAB (digital audio broadcasting) radio that measures 15cm x 15cm x 7.5cm and is battery (four x AA) as well as mains powered so can easily be moved from the kitchen or bathroom or taken on a picnic in the summer. It is available in pink or black glossy plastic and comes with a one-year warranty. Sound quality is decent enough for a compact unit such as this, and while music lovers might not be satisfied, it is all you need if you just want to catch the news in the morning while getting ready for work.

PROS Small, affordable and simple to use with 20 preset radio stations that are displayed by name not frequency.

CONS It’s easy to accidentally press the off button; the pink version looks too much like a toy.
