Background:  The hotel is centrally located between the business district and historic attractions. With stunning views of the city from both the Horizon Club and the rooftop lounge, pan Asian dining options and luxurious facilities, the hotel is perfect for a peaceful escapade for business and leisure travellers alike. With 397 spacious rooms and suites, seven restaurants and bars – this hotel truly has it all.

What’s it like? The abundance of space in the hotel was something I genuinely enjoyed. It allows you to breathe freely and unwind in a way that prepares you to seize the day. Each window overlooks a scenic view which makes the hotel perfect for someone like me who likes to get lost in my thoughts. The interiors exude elegance and grace and are finished with contemporary furnishings and locally inspired artistic features which show how meticulously each inch of the hotel has been designed. My favourite part was the supremely comfortable signature Shangri-La bed, with 300 thread-count Frette linen which made for a blissfully sound night of sleep.

Where is it Conveniently located on the periphery that joins the central business district and the blue-ribbon residential suburbs of Bengaluru. The hotel is well connected to the Kempegowda International Airport and is closely situated to the Government Ministries.

Rooms The hotel has multiple luxury offerings including the Deluxe room, Panorama View room, Horizon Club room, Horizon Bangalore View room, Horizon Panorama View room, Premier suite, Horizon Premier suite, Governor suite and Shangri-La suite. I stayed in the Horizon Bangalore View room for two nights and spent each evening relishing their small plates and uniquely crafted beverages.

Food and Drink One can begin their day with a buffet breakfast at b Café like I did. If you want to treat your palate further you can take your tastebuds on an East Asian adventure at the signature Shangri-La restaurant Shang Palace. If you are looking for a place for your evening tipple their rooftop bar Hype is the perfect place to enjoy your drink with a beautiful view on the side. The other F&B options in the hotel include Ssaffron (Indian fare) and Yataii (Japanese cuisine).

Meetings The hotel has a plethora of meeting options for the business traveller that is looking to make the most of their stay in the city. Venues include one of the largest ballrooms in Bengaluru, a sunlit junior ballroom with a beautiful foyer, and seven flexible function rooms covering a total of 1,996 sqm to meet a wide array of purposes. Upon request the hotel also provides state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and videoconferencing facilities to ensure your meetings run as smoothly as possible.
