The Tai Pan restaurant at The Murray, Hong Kong, A Niccolo Hotel, offers global cuisine and grilled specialities. Seasonal ingredients lie at the core of the meal preparations at this all-day dining restaurant adorned with leather furniture, chandeliers in metallic hues, monochrome black and white marble.

For starters, I had a plate of The Tai Pan signature lobster caesar salad that set the tone for my elaborate yet comforting dining experience. The main course comprised succulent grilled wagyu beef flank steak served with wild mushroom fregola, broccoli and pine nut. I also sampled the pan-seared wild suzuki seabass which was cooked well.

Adding to this was a citrus tartelette made with mint, lime agar gelée and strawberry sorbet, which gave a fresh punch to my meal.

A special mention for the thoughtfully curated wine programme offering premium products from the renowned wine-making regions of
the world.

Verdict: A must-visit in Central, Hong Kong for modern international cuisine
