The Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu houses some delightful F&B outlets that serve an eclectic mix of local and international cuisines. One among these is Oshima, where I enjoyed a hearty business lunch during my recent trip to this Japanese port city.

Adorning an elegant atmosphere, Oshima offers 106 seats and six private dining rooms for intimate gatherings.

The restaurant is known for its traditional Japanese preparations. I started with a bowl of clear soup to warm up my palate and simultaneously ordered for a plate of sashimi, which was presented well and tasted even better.

I then went for stewed duck served with vegetables. The meat was extremely tender and well wrapped in subtle flavours. As a seafood lover, I couldn’t resist a grilled fish which was cooked to perfection — making it the highlight of my dining experience here.

Adding to my meal was some sake which made for a good change from the regular spirits that I usually have.

Lastly, Oshima’s staff service is something worth mentioning and gives you a peek into what Japanese hospitality is all about.

Verdict: One of Yokohama’s finest venues for exploring local cuisine.
