Inspired by the 19th-century’s golden age of cocktails, the Manhattan at Regent Singapore boasts the world’s first in-hotel rickhouse. Despite its contemporary interiors, the bar is reminiscent of old New York.

From the cocktail menu, I tried the Cuban Old Fashioned, which is a mix of Havana Club 7 Years infused with cola-mint syrup and cherry tobacco bitters. The cocktail suited my palate well and gave a fresh start to my evening experience at the Manhattan. As an admirer of good rye, I then chose Thomas H. Handy, which was effortlessly smooth.

Meanwhile, I ordered a barrel-aged whisky barbecue pulled pork burger. Made with barbecue pulled pork cheek with sesame brioche, pineapple jam and chipotle aioli, the burger was juicy and quite filling. Also, the tanginess from the pineapple jam added a nice touch to the delicacy. Don’t forget to check out their rickhouse selection as well that features some interesting flavours.

Verdict: A great place in Singapore to enjoy drinks, the American way.
