Dutch company Mujjo designs cases and sleeves for Apple devices, as well as touchscreen gloves.
It aims to make products that are simple in design and yet finely crafted and functional: “We obsessively try to keep it as simple as possible, while trying to make each part as good as possible – every stitch, every button, they have all been intensively thought out,” as the website says.
At the end of last year Mujjo launched new leather wallet cases for iPhone 6s and 6s Plus improved with “moulded edge technology”. Made of high-quality vegetable-tanned leather in tan, black or grey, they are designed to hold two credit cards while protecting the body of your phone, eliminating the need to carry a separate wallet if you don’t need to.
They are also compatible with Apple’s older 6 and 6Plus models. A plain case without a card slot is available too.
The polycarbonate moulded edge technology lines the inner edges of the case and is designed to strengthen the leather at its most fragile points, helping it to withstand wear and tear.
I tried out the iPhone 6s model in tan. The phone slots easily into the case, which has cutouts for the power and volume controls and the earphone and charging ports, all of which remain easy to access, as well as the camera lens.
As well as looking stylish, it feels good in the hand and doesn’t add bulk. It fits two cards snugly, which are easy enough to slide in and out while at the same time feeling secure. I have been using it for several weeks now and the leather is wearing well, with a nice shine.
VERDICT A classy-looking case that offers good protection for your phone as well as a convenient slot for your cards. Note it offers no protection for the screen so you will need to invest in a shield for that.
