Background

The Leela Ambience Gurugram Hotel and Residences of The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts opened in 2009.

What’s it like?

The property gave me a feeling of ‘home, away from home’ and is an epitome of India’s tradition that believes in treating the guest like god. Set in contemporary style, the interiors are done using marble, glass and granite.

Where is it?
Located beside the Ambience Mall, The Leela Ambience Gurugram Hotel and Residences is approximately 8 km away from the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Rooms

All the 412 guestrooms and suites have been designed with contemporary and Indian elements. Its different accommodation categories include Deluxe, Premier, Royal Club rooms, Executive Suites, Panorama suites and the Presidential suite.

I stayed in a 76 sqm Executive suite overlooking the beautiful Rajokri Green Belt. The suite is equipped with basic necessities including a flat-screen TV, a Bose iPod dock, a tea and coffee maker, a spacious work desk, a comfortable king-size bed and wooden furniture. The walls are adorned with interesting artwork by popular international artists. Additionally, the property houses luxury serviced apartments in One-bedroom, Two-bedroom and Three-bedroom configurations.

Food and drink

The hotel features a plethora of dining options. My lunch was hosted at Spectra, the 24*7, multi-cuisine restaurant with seven live kitchens, where I also had a chance to interact with Executive Chef Ashish Bhasin. The restaurant include dishes such as grilled fish, pad Thai, sushi, kebabs and soups. As I had meetings scheduled for rest of the day, I chose to stay away from cocktails, instead, I overdosed on delectable desserts like caramel custard, cheesecake with blueberry sauce and green apple jalebi. The following day, I checked out Diya, the hotel’s Indian restaurant famous for its traditional delicacies. Other F&B options at the hotel are Zanotta – Cucina Italiana, a casual authentic Italian restaurant; and Rubicon and Cigar lounge, a stylish and contemporary bar and cigar lounge.

Business

Whether you are looking to host a grand wedding, a conference or even a private party, this modern hotel offers varied event spaces including pillar-less ballrooms, board rooms and meeting rooms. There are a total of fifteen banquet and meeting rooms such as The Pearl Ballroom with a large pre-function area, The Royal Room, Maple Room, Boardroom Lounge to name a few.

Leisure

There is a spa and salon shop, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and a temperature controlled swimming pool. Additionally, if you are looking for some mental detox, check out its yoga and aerobics studio.

Verdict: A strategically located business hotel with an expansive F&B offering.
