Over these years, London Marriott Hotel Maida Vale has carved out a name for itself as a premium address in North West London cityscape.

What’s it like?

It has been a couple of years that London Marriott Hotel Maida Vale renovated its guestrooms with more contemporary elements. Overall, the look and feel of the hotel is quite stylish and luxurious.

Where is it?

London Marriott Hotel Maida Vale is located in London’s City of Westminster neighbourhood, and is a short walk from Kilburn Park station. Travel time between the property and Heathrow Airport via Paddington Station and the Heathrow Express service is around 40 minutes. Major attractions like the Lord’s Cricket Ground and Regent’s Park are easily accessible. Popular Abbey Road Studios is also just around the corner.

I stayed in the One Bedroom suite that was stacked with useful amenities, including a range of power sockets, a flat-screen, high-speed wifi and a spacious work desk. Whenever I am on my business trip, I prefer to stay in a room which features low-key décor, and surprisingly, this room had everything that I had wished for — minimal and elegant elements with modern touches. An expansive bedroom, a king-size bed with premium duvet and pillows set the perfect tone for my relaxing stay. Its plush bathroom features a separate bath and walk-in shower facilities. With the total of 239 rooms, the hotel’s other accommodation categories include the Executive King rooms, accessible King rooms and Presidential suites, among others.

Food and drink

Being a foodie, I was quite excited to check out the hotel’s Italian restaurant Carluccio’s, offering a varied range of classics. The outlet is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the week. Before heading for my day’s meetings, I chose to have a full-English breakfast here. I tasted a bit of everything — from fresh fruits to a selection of cereals, different types of cheese, ham and croissants. I also tried some gluten-free and vegan options. In the evening, I stepped at the Carluccio’s bar for a quick post-work drink. The bar serves some fine wine and creative cocktails was quite sophisticated and packed with mixed-age crowd.

This Marriott property is ideal for hosting meetings and events of all kinds. A total of four versatile event spaces can accommodate up to 180 people. The property’s newly renovated Westbourne can be utilised for business and social gatherings. Themed around music studios in the proximity, Abbey Road and Hampstead Studios are some of the meeting rooms here.

Guests looking to rejuvenate are recommended to take a dip in the Bannatyne’s swimming pool. The hotel offers swimming lessons as well.

Verdict: With its strategic location and high-end facilities, this Marriott property is highly recommended for business travellers.
