Instantair aims to provide “unlimited” flights to key European cities

23 May 2016 by BusinessTraveller

Start-up airline Instantair is aiming to offer members unlimited flights between four key European cities, for a fixed monthly fee.

The company says that for Euros 2,250 individuals will have unlimited access to morning and evening flights to and from the four cities.

The airline says that it will use “eight to 18-seater turboprop aircraft”, allowing it to use business terminals and private airports. Instantair will use a London airport in the UK, Schiphol East in Amsterdam, Le Bourget in Paris, and Egelsbach airport in Frankfurt.

In response to critics that claim the idea will never work, founders Yannick and Alexander Janssens say that “it’s actually been done before – and successfully in the US”.

“Europe is a different market though,” admits Alexander. “Where in the US a luxury travel service is provided, Instantair is focussing on being fast and effective.

“Hence, we use business aircraft with regular seats while flying from/to private terminals to make sure our members can arrive just 15 minutes prior to flight.”

Members will have access to a mobile app, and can book up to four flights at a time (once one of the four flights has been flown, the member is then able to select another one).

Flights can be selected up to four weeks in advance, and Instantair says that selecting flights will take “a maximum of 30 seconds”.

The start-up has opened sign-up lists for the routes, and says that “As soon as a route has sufficient subscribers, it will launch”. It adds that it “expects to have everything ready in late Q3 this year”.
