Nobu is to open a new London restaurant  this summer, set within the brand’s soon-to-open Nobu Hotel Shoreditch.

Opening July 1, Nobu Shoreditch will be the latest addition to the renowned Japanese restaurant and hotel group, founded by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper. It will have 240 seats, including a 10-seat sushi bar and an 18-seat chef’s table, with views of the main kitchen and sushi chefs at work.

Designed by Ron Arad Architects and Ben Adams Architects, the hotel is set to open the same day, offering 143 rooms and seven suites, a lobby bar, a gym and event space for 200 people standing, alongside the restaurant.

Designed by California-based Studio PCH, the restaurant will feature the brand’s signature aesthetic using materials that reflect the local area, including concrete, bronze, rich oak timber and glass.

The menu was drawn up by executive chef Greg Seregi and executive sushi chef Noriyoshi Teruya with signature dishes such as black cod with miso and yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno as well as new dishes inspired, again, by the local area.

Exclusive Nobu Shoreditch menu items include:

Hokaido scallops with foie gras, sautéed Japanese mushrooms, aji matsuhisa and aged balsamic

Sea bass with yuzu kosho, tomato and cucumber salsa, honey truffle and black truffle shavings

The restaurant will also be the first London Nobu to offer breakfast, with dishes that include:

Benedict matsuhisa with crab, sautéed spinach, crispy tofu and shiso bearnaise

Matcha waffle with chicken and smoked maple ponzu

There will also be Omakase (selected by the chef) tasting menus, signature bento boxes, donburi and cold soba noodle dishes available alongside the seasonal Osusume menu.

For drinks, the bar is said to have one of the largest Japanese Whiskey libraries in London, with the only selection of Hokesetsu sakes available in the UK besides Nobu’s other two London restaurants.

A private courtyard will also offer al-fresco dining with seating for up to 80 people within partially-covered terraces.
