A new boutique design hotel has opened in central Soho.

Located on Frith Street, the 58-room Mimi’s Soho is set across six floors of a Victorian townhouse, offering four room categories from the “tiny single” which measures 6 sqm, to Mimi’s Lux at 20 sqm. Rooms have been designed to “capture the soul of Soho’s bohemian heritage”, with a “mixture of ornate, windowless rooms and more traditional suites”.

Room features include German-made mattresses, Italian Frette cotton linens, an in-room entertainment system with free pre-release films, USB ports and dimmable lighting features, while bathrooms are decked out in marble and glass mosaic with pressurised rain showers, heated mirrors and Molton Brown toiletries.

On the ground floor, the hotel’s bar, Henson’s Bar and Social, offers an intimate space for meetings or drinks, with a separate entrance on Frith Street. It features reclaimed oak flooring, a fireplace and bespoke furniture, alongside reproductions of works by Andy Warhol, Matisse and Picasso.

Founder of the hotel’s property developers Land Union Group, Lutz Strangemann said:

“Currently we are looking to develop further hotels in London and our first hotel in Manhattan. Our experience in real estate combined with our construction capabilities allows us to create exciting products in prime locations. Mimi’s Soho is a unique experience that is strongly distinct from the standardised chains, not only due its design and build quality, but also because of the in-house operational team.”
