Easyjet carried a record number of passengers to and from Scotland in 2016, with 2 million travelling for business.
Around 6.4 million passengers flew with the budget airline last year – an 11 per cent increase on 2015 and 30 per cent more than five years ago.
Easyjet said of the 6.4m, Edinburgh accounted for just over 3.6 million passengers with more than 2 million travelling to and from Glasgow. Inverness and Aberdeen accounted for around 480,000 passengers and 231,000 respectively.
The airline confirmed it will increase capacity by around 5 per cent this year, as well as introduce a second A320 aircraft in Glasgow from March.
