Jet Airways indefinitely defers the delivery of ten B787-9, that it ordered in 2006.

The airline has done so to consolidate and review its livery by upgrading capacity on its key international routes by deploying six Boeing 777s that are returning from lease. (Read — Jet Airways to take back B777s from Etihad.)

There is no definite statement on when it will receive the pending Boeing deliveries.

Jet Airways tells Business Traveller India, “At Jet Airways, we continuously review our fleet and network strategy. We are currently upgrading capacity on key international routes by deploying the six Boeing 777 aircraft which are returning from lease. A decision on the  induction of additional wide-body aircraft will be based on the outcome of the review.”

Jet Airways has a fleet of 116 aircraft that includes 65 B737-800s and 10 B777-300ER.
