New Wanda Reign hotel opens in Shanghai

China’s Wanda Hotels & Resorts has opened its “ultra luxury” Wanda Reign-branded property in Shanghai. Situated along the Huangpu River, Wanda Reign on the Bund is within walking distance of attractions such as the ancient Yu Garden and City God Temple. The hotel is 42km from Pudong International Airport, 16km from Hongqiao Airport and 6.4km from Shanghai Railway Station. Wanda Reign on the Bund offers 193 guestrooms and suites ranging from 45 sqm to 288 sqm. Rooms are designed in two styles, described by the hotel as “trendy with high energy” and “noble, luxurious and distinguished”. The former blends art deco themes with modernity, while the latter incorporates mahogany burl wood and magnolia embroideries. Executive Bund View Suite living room Each guestroom comes with complimentary wifi connectivity and an iPad used to control in-room functions as well as order in-room dining. The hotel further embraces the use of new technologies by fitting a digital mini-screen peephole in each room, allowing guests to identify visitors by looking at the LCD TV. Each marble-clad bathroom is equipped with a floor heating system, a separate shower and bathtub, and L’Occitane personal care amenities. Meanwhile, suites get the more luxurious Hermès bath amenities. Grand Deluxe River View room  There are five F&B outlets on site. These include Marc restaurant, which is led by Michelin-starred French chef, Marc Meneau; the all-day dining restaurant Café Reign; Huiyang Chinese restaurant River Drunk; He Japanese Restaurant; and the Lobby Bar. There is also the Wine & Cigar Bar where guests can sample top international wines while smoking premium cigars. River Drunk main dining room  Recreational facilities include the Shui Spa, which consists of sauna and steam rooms, plunge pools and treatment rooms. For those looking to indulge in the popular Chinese pastime Karaoke, four KTV rooms are available in the hotel – each equipped with a dance floor, disco lasers and audio-visual equipment. Finally, Wanda Reign on the Bund offers a number of event spaces including a 720 sqm Grand Ballroom on the third floor. Featuring an eight-metre-high ceiling, the ballroom can be separated into two smaller halls for increased flexibility. There are also three private function rooms ranging from 39 sqm to 175 sqm.
