6 Jun 2016 by Mark Caswell
Intercontinental Hotels Group is to invest US$200 million into its Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts brand in the Americas region. The three-year programme is aimed at ensuring the brand “remains at the forefront of the new way of doing business”, and will create “a guest experience with modern swagger, innovative technology, responsive service and flexible spaces that put the modern business traveller in control as they strive to integrate work and life, socialise and recharge”. The investment will focus on sales and marketing campaigns, as well as a “continuous improvement of the guest experience”. The group says it will also continue to “selectively invest to secure high quality Crowne Plaza hotels in key markets throughout the region that showcase the future of business travel”, and says it will provide “additional resources to ensure every Crowne Plaza hotel delivers at the highest levels over the next 18 months”. IHG also pointed to Crowne Plaza’s latest “guest room of the future” – the WorkLife room – as an example of “high impact, distinctive and meaningful innovations that deliver sophisticated design and modern amenities”.
