Etihad upgrades Melbourne and Perth routes

3 Jun 2016 by BusinessTraveller
Etihad Airways has rostered its next-generation A380 and B787 aircraft onto two Australian routes, adding additional capacity and the carrier’s latest cabins. One of Etihad’s two daily flights to Melbourne now features the Airbus superjumbo (replacing the B777 which continues to serve the other daily flight). The A380 service EY460 departs Abu Dhabi at 2215, arriving into Melbourne at 1745 the following day, with the return leg EY461 departing at 2210 and landing back into Abu Dhabi at 0625 the following day. The superjumbo features the carrier’s latest seating products, including the three-suite The Residence cabin. The A380 increases the number of seats on the Melbourne-Abu Dhabi service by 26 per cent. Meanwhile Etihad has also added its Boeing Dreamliner to its daily Abu Dhabi-Perth route, replacing the A330-200. The larger aircraft increases total capacity on the route by 14 per cent, and the number of business class seats by 27 per cent. Perth is the second Australian city to welcome Etihad’s Dreamliner aircraft, following Brisbane last year. etihad.com Mark Caswell
