Guestrooms start at a generous 48 sqm, and feature louvered shutters and wooden floors that complement the resort’s surroundings. Bathrooms are accessorised with stone-clad bathtubs and rain showers.

There are 21 suites onsite, which range from 96 to 240 sqm. Each comes with a balcony and is furnished with rattan furniture. Complimentary wifi is available for all guests.

There are four F&B options onsite. Guests can choose from all-day dining at Bojunhala, Southeast Asian flavours at Sera, whiskies at Ulpatha and cocktails at Gimanhala.

Shangri-La’s Hambantota Resort & Spa offers a full suite of recreational facilities. The main highlight is the Shangri-La’s Golf and Country Club, which will open in the middle of this month. Designed by renowned golf course designer Rodney Wright, the 18-hole course also delivers beautiful ocean views.

Along with the Health Club, where guests can take part in yoga classes, Shangri-La’s Hambantota Resort & Spa also arranges daily outdoor activities, including beach volleyball, mountain biking and jogging. For those that do not wish to break a sweat, the brand’s signature CHI, The Spa offers stress relieving massages, facials and body treatments.

Young guests can visit the resort’s “Cool Zone”, which is a fully supervised kids club. There, they can enjoy activities such as arts and crafts, a drone flying experience and a water park.

The resort is also home to 2,525 sqm of event space. Supported by outdoor pavilions, the ballroom can host up to 1,000 guests. Meanwhile, additional function rooms – Kandy, Hatton and Badulla – can each accommodate 100 or more guests. The smaller venues, Haputale and Nuwara Eliya span 70.5 sqm, which can fit up to 84 persons.
