Etihad Airways adds more seats to Australia

Etihad Airways has added 2,296 seats per week to its Australia-Abu Dhabi services. Melbourne has traditionally been served by the B777-300ER twice-daily, however as of today one of these return flights will be taken over by the A380 Like the B777-300ER, the A380 features a three-class configuration but the superjumbo offers one more seat in first, 30 more in business and 133 more in economy. In addition, the A380 brings with it the super luxurious three-room suite, The Residence. Flight times remain unchanged, with EY460 departing Abu Dhabi daily at 2215 and arriving in Melbourne at 1745 the following day. The return flight, EY461 will then take off from Melbourne at 2210 before touching back down in Abu Dhabi at 0625 the next day. The Residence on the A380  The B787-9  Meanwhile, the Gulf carrier has also started operating its B787-9 aircraft on the Abu Dhabi–Perth route, replacing the A330-200. The B787-9 features a two-class configuration with 28 seats in business and 271 in economy. The aircraft change has resulted in an additional 518 weekly seats added to the route – roughly a 14 per cent increase overall, while business class capacity has increased by 27 per cent. Flight EY468 departs Abu Dhabi daily at 2230 and arrives in Perth at 1350 the next day. The return flight EY487 takes off at Perth at 1700 and arrives back in Abu Dhabi at 0025 the following day.
