The new-build Alt Hotel Ottawa has opened in the Canadian capital, located close to the city’s Parliament Buidlings.
The 148-room “no frills chic” hotel features spa-inspired bathrooms, free wifi, 4,000 square feet of meeting space, a gym and all day-dining Altcetera Café.
The hotel also features a lobby mural composed of 9,000 photographs of Canadian landscapes, with LCD screens streaming Instagram images shared by the public under the hashtag #altexpo.
Alt Hotel Ottawa is operated by Montreal-based Germaine Hospitalite, which currently has 13 hotels under its Alt and Germain brands. The group aims to open up to seven more properties by 2020.
Earlier this year, IHG opened the rebranded Holiday Inn Ottawa East, following a $9 million renovation of the former Chimo Hotel.
