Delta to launch revamped menus

24 May 2016

From June 1, Delta Airlines will be replacing the carrier’s current menus with Flight Fuel, a new in-flight catering programme focused on healthy and fresh ingredients.

The programme will offer three menu options: Flight Fuel, Flight Fuel Premium and Flight Fuel Hawaii. Flight Fuel Premium is offered on transcontinental, nonstop flights between JFK and LAX/SFO while Flight Fuel Hawaii will be available on flights to and from Honolulu. All products will be packaged with recyclable materials.

The new menus will feature snack boxes under the names Crave, Crunch and Tapas and have been marketed as the only non-GMO snack boxes among US airlines. Options from these include a fruit and cheese plate; a turkey sandwich with crisps and a brownie; continental breakfast; breakfast sandwich options; and wraps by food manufacturer Luvo.

Luvo wraps available on Delta flights include Southwest Grilled Chicken, Sesame Grilled Chicken and Mediterranean Whole Grain Veggie.

Other partnerships include Sheila G’s Brownie Brittle and a fruit and cheese plate co-branded with Murray’s cheese based out of New York – both will be offered between JFK and SFO/LAX flights. The airline has also partnered with master sommelier Andrea Robinson on a wine programme for its premium Delta One menus.
