ANA unveils North America expansion

13 May 2016 by Clement Huang
All Nippon Airways (ANA) has secured three daytime slots at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, and will use two of these to launch non-stop flights to New York JFK and Chicago. The new services will begin on October 30, and complement its existing US-bound flights from Tokyo to Los Angeles, Honolulu and Vancouver. ANA B787 Dreamliner In addition, ANA announced that it will begin non-stop B787-8 flights from Tokyo to Mexico City starting February 2017. This will make it the only airline providing daily direct links between Japan and Mexico. The new route comes as Mexico increases its appeal as a manufacture and export centre. Foreign investment from Japan has nearly tripled since 2010, while the Trans Pacific Partnership is expected to boost the relationship between both countries even further. ANA has been preparing for the launch of its Mexico service since the opening of its sales office in the city last July. The airline also began offering flights between Tokyo Narita and Houston last year, which allowed passengers to travel on to seven cities in Mexico by connecting onto codeshare flights.
