Lemon Tree Hotels plans UAE expansion

11 May 2016 by BusinessTraveller

Lemon Tree Hotels, India’s mid-scale hospitality chain, is planning to expand its presence in the UAE.

This is following the growing number of corporate and leisure travellers to the emirates.

Lemon Tree Hotels has partnered with Sydney-based real estate agent Raine and Horne for the expansion.

The chain will begin this expansion with Abu Dhabi, Fujairah and Dubai with a mix of hotels and apartments.

“You go where your customer goes, or where the demand will be created, and it is the spending power of Indians that we are trying to harness," said Rattan Keswani, the deputy managing director of Lemon Tree Hotels.

"Moreover, most of the development here is in upscale categories and although a larger number of travellers are in the mid-scale, nobody is filling the gap,”

The chain currently operates 29 hotels across 18 cities.
