Starwood’s St Regis brand has opened its first property in the Malaysian capital.
The 208-room St Regis Kuala Lumpur is located within the mixed use KL Sentral development, with views of the Lake Gardens, the National Museum and Houses of Parliament.
Features include guestrooms starting from 63 sqm, six food and beverage options including Taka by Sushi Saito by three Michelin-starred Japanese chef Takashi Saito, the Crystal rooftop bar, and the Drawing Room for Afternoon Tea (complete with its own tea sommelier).
There is an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, yoga room and Iridium Spa, and over 10,000 sqm of events space.
The hotel also features an art collection including a 3.5 metre-high horse sculpture by Colombian artist Fernando Botero, and Grace Thunder, a diptych of two 4.9-metre hand-etched leather murals by Wales-born Mark Evans.
Starwood recently opened its first St Regis hotel in Malaysia – an all-suite resort property with a 600-metre private beach in Langkawi (see news March 16).
The luxury brand is also set to open properties in the Maldives, Changsha and Cairo this year.
