Niche business carrier bmi regional has today launched a new fares package.

There are now three different tariffs, namely Classic, Classic Plus and Executive, all of which offer various amenities.

But in reality it would seem that bmi regional is simply following in the footsteps of Europe’s other major airlines.

The three fare types are:

  • Classic.  One piece of hold baggage. No cancellation allowed. Changes allowed for £50 plus any fare difference.
  • Classic Plus.  One piece of hold baggage. Cancellation allowed for a £100 fee. Changes allowed free (plus any fare difference). Simple inflight snack and drink.
  • Executive. As its name suggests this is bmi regional’s version of business class. It allows free cancellation and flight changes (plus any price difference).  Hold baggage extends to a two-piece allowance. There is also fast track, plus lounge access. Catering comprises drinks plus a hot meal.

As bmi regional is a “feed” airline on a number of routes, more recently with its Southampton-Munich service, its Executive fare will meet the needs of premium passengers making long-haul connections.

These three tariff types go on sale today, April 27.  And they come into effect for travel on and from April 29.

Jochen Schnadt, COO at bmi regional, said: “Our new fare structure further enhances our position as a flexible and bespoke airline for business, corporate and leisure travellers.  We believe this new service is the next logical step in further aligning our product offering to our customers’ needs and wants.”
