Indian national carrier Air India has added a second daily flight from Delhi to Indore during the month-long Ujjain Simhastha (Kumbh), which commenced on Friday April 22.

Non-stop services depart from Delhi at 1155 and 1430 and land at Indore at 1330 and 1605 respectively. The return legs take off from Indore at 1005 and 1400 and land at Delhi at 1140 and 1525 respectively.

Air India’s usual single daily direct flight on this sector was unable to cater for the extra rush of tourists, pilgrims and visitors. An estimated 50 million pilgrims are expected to visit Ujjain and other places during the ongoing fair.

The carrier has rostered an A321 aircraft onto the second daily service.
