Hilton Worldwide is set to open a Waldorf Astoria property in Dubai's financial centre next year.
Slated for an autumn 2017 opening, the Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) will occupy part of a mixed-use development that also consists of retail and office space.
The property will be located on Al Saada Street – opposite the DIFC – and approximately 10 kilometres from Dubai International Airport (DXB).
Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre will feature 247 guestrooms, as well as a range of dining, wellness and spa facilities. It will also offer plenty of event space with a grand ballroom and four meeting rooms.
“I have long admired the role DIFC plays in the world of international investment, benefiting from its East meets West location and world-class trading framework,” said Carlos Khneisser, vice president of development, Middle East and North Africa for Hilton Worldwide.
“As an iconic luxury brand originating from New York, another centre of global finance, I am delighted that we will welcome Waldorf Astoria to this international hub.”
With the upcoming Dubai Expo 2020 expected to see more than 25 million visitors in attendance, the timely opening of the new Waldorf Astoria hotel is expected to be a significant draw to travellers seeking for luxury accommodation.
