The flight frequency between Delhi and Amritsar will rise to eight services per day next month, with Spicejet adding a second daily flight.
Air India and Jet Airways fly thrice daily on the route, with Spicejet currently operating a daily service.
From May 10 this will rise to two flights per day.
Currently, flight SG2515 departs from Delhi at 1630 and lands at Amritsar at 1745. The return flight departs from Amritsar at 1815 and lands at Delhi at 1930.
The additional frequency will see flight SG2513 take off from Delhi at 0600 and land at Amritsar at 0710, with the return flight SG2514 leaving Amritsar at 0730 and landing at Delhi at 0850.
The route remains popular as a large number of people visit the Golden Temple in Amritsar. It is also gaining popularity as a MICE destination.
