Indian homegrown luxury hospitality chain ITC Hotels has renewed its partnership with Starwood Hotels and Resorts.

The agreement covers 12 existing hotels (including one Sheraton property) and three forthcoming ITC Luxury Collection hotels in India.

The new openings are scheduled for: ITC Kohinoor in Hyderabad, ITC Narmada in Ahmedabad and ITC Royal Bengal in Kolkata. They are due to open in the next four years.

Nakul Anand, Executive Director, ITC Limited says, “ITC Hotels is pleased to extend the association with Starwood into its 5th decade in India. ITC’s luxury hotels are an archetype of the culture and ethos of region they are located in.”

The ITC and Starwood partnership dates back to 1979 and began with the signing of the Sheraton brand. In 2007, the companies signed an agreement thorough which Starwood launched The Luxury Collection brand in India, run by ITC.

“Starwood is experiencing strong growth momentum in India with signings of new hotels in the past 12 months representing nearly 30 per cent of our current operating footprint in the country.

“India remains one of our fastest growing markets and much of our success can be attributed to our long, collaborative partnership with ITC,” said Thomas Mangas, Chief Executive Officer, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide.
