Tianjin Airlines to launch flights to London Gatwick

5 Apr 2016 by Clement Huang

Tianjin Airlines is set to begin a twice-weekly service between Tianjin and London Gatwick via Chongqing from June 2016.

The news is a surprising one given that Tianjin Airlines is currently a regional carrier with a strong presence within China as well as Japan. The airline also operates an all narrow-body fleet, but will take delivery of its first A330-200 in the coming months.

According to airlineroute.net, the A330-200 will be used to operate the Tianjin–Chongqing–London Gatwick route. Flight GS7965 will depart Tianjin every Wednesday and Saturday at 0905, before arriving in Chongqing at 1145. The service will depart Chongqing again at 1445 and arrive in London Gatwick at 2025.

The return service on flight GS7966 will take off from London Gatwick at 2225 and arrive in Chongqing at 1655 the following day. Following a short refuelling stop, the flight will depart Chongqing at 2010 and touch back down in Tianjin at 2235.
