Hilton Worldwide has opened a new midscale hotel in China’s Guangdong province.
Hampton by Hilton Guangzhou Zhujiang New Town is located in the Tianhe District, close to business and financial hubs such as the Guangzhou International Finance Centre, Citic Plaza and Pazhou Complex.
Transport links include Guangzhou East Railway Station – a 15-minute drive away, and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, an hour away in light traffic.
Positioned in the mid-tier market, the hotel represents a strategic move by Hilton to capitalise on the growing middle class market in China.
The first Hampton by Hilton opened in Sanya in December 2015, with ten further openings in China expected this year, and 400 over the next decade.
“[The hotel] represents a breakthrough for Hampton’s development in the China market. With a strong partner like Plateno Group, I have every confidence that the brand will achieve a similar success as in the United States,” said Phil Cordell, global head, focused service and Hampton brand management, Hilton Worldwide.
“China is the 20th country that Hampton has entered, and for the city of Guangzhou, it is not only a strategic city and the ‘south gate’ of China, but is also the centre of politics, economy, science, education and culture of Guangdong province and the Pearl River Delta.”
All of the hotel’s 223 rooms feature Serta mattresses, work desks and chairs, plus skincare amenities by Peter Thomas Roth.
Other facilities include free wifi, a 24-hour snack bar, onsite restaurant, meeting room and fitness centre.
