British Airways is to drop its six times-weekly service between London Heathrow and Baku from the end of April. In a statement the carrier said: “We have taken the decision to suspend the London Heathrow to Baku route as it is no longer commercially viable. “The final service from Heathrow will be on April 29, 2016 and the final service departing Baku will be on the same day. “We apologise for any disruption that this may cause to our customers travel plans. Any customers travelling after this date will be offered a full refund. “British Airways continually reviews our network to ensure that our routes match our customers' needs. “As part of our review, we have carefully evaluated the London Heathrow to Baku route and have concluded that, at the present time, the services are not making a profitable contribution to our business.” Azerbaijan Airlines currently offers a thrice weekly service from Heathrow Terminal 4 to Baku, using a B787 aircraft. ba.com Mark Caswell
