Best Western Hotels & Resorts has signed its first hotel Kuching, expanding the group’s Malaysian portfolio to four hotels, alongside Best Western i-City Shah Alam, Best Western Petaling Jaya, and Best Western Premier The Haven Ipoh.
As the capital of Sarawak, Kuching is one of the main industrial and commercial centres of the state. It is also an up-and-coming MICE destination, having hosted prominent events such as the Asean Tourism Forum back in 2014 (see here).

The new-build Best Western Kuching will offer 200 guestrooms when it opens in 2018. Each will be equipped with a flat-screen television and international satellite channels, a minibar and complimentary wifi.
Facilities will include an all-day dining restaurant serving both local and international cuisine, a swimming pool and several meeting and event spaces.
"It was important that Best Western established a presence in this fast-growing emerging market,” said Olivier Berrivin, Best Western Hotels & Resorts’ managing director of international operations.
“This exciting project will showcase the 21st century vision of Best Western Hotels & Resorts, to provide modern, well-connected and value-for-money accommodation in the key Asian destinations.”
