Vietnam Airlines will begin deploying its new B787-9 aircraft on services to Australia later in the year.

According to airlineroute.net, flights to Melbourne and Sydney, currently served by the A330-200 and B777-200ER respectively, will begin daily Dreamliner operations from October 29.

The B787-9 features a three-class configuration, with 28 seats in business, 35 in Deluxe Economy and 211 in economy.

Business class customers can look forward to a full-flat seat on the Dreamliner arranged in a 1-2-1 layout, which is far superior to the recliner-type seats found on the A330 and B777. (For a review of the B787 product, see here and here)

For the Sydney service, flight VN773 will depart Ho Chi Minh City at 2130 and arrive in Sydney at 0950 the next day. Following a brief layover, flight VN772 will take off from Kingsford Smith Airport, and arrive back in Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 1615.
