Starwood Hotels & Resorts will bring its midscale Aloft brand to Dubai’s man-made island, Palm Jumeirah in 2017.
The property will be the brand’s first resort in the Middle East, and also the first mid-market hotel on the island.
Featuring the brand’s signature "urban-influenced" design, Aloft Dubai, The Palm will feature 192 guestrooms, including ten suites – all equipped with platform beds, walk-in showers and Bliss-branded amenities. The resort will also provide direct access to a 500-metre stretch of beach, complete with sun beds and a gazebo for leisure lounging.
SPG Keyless – Starwood’s keyless entry system that enables guests to use their smartphones as their room key, will be available for use at the hotel. Complimentary wifi will also be provided.
Aloft’s signature W XYZ Bar will be featured, as will re:fuel by Aloft – the “grab and go” 24/7 eatery. There will also be an all-day dining outlet and a speciality restaurant.
Recreational facilities will include a fully equipped fitness centre and a pool. For events and conferences, Aloft Dubai, The Palm will offer over 100 sqm of creative space, including four meeting rooms.
“The UAE remains our strongest growth market in the Middle East, and this deal reinforces the demand for mid-market hotel development in the region,” said Michael Wale, president, Starwood Hotels & Hotels Europe, Africa and Middle East.
