China Eastern will launch a direct service from Shanghai Pudong to Chicago starting from March 18.
Flights will depart Shanghai Pudong Airport at 1140 and arrive in Chicago O'Hare International Airport at 1240. The return leg will leave the US at 1450, touching down in China at 1910 the following day.
The route will be operated by a 316-seat B777-300ER, which consists of three classes: six first class suites, 52 business and 258 economy seats. (see here for a Tried & Tested of its business class product)
In addition to expanding its network in the Americas, the Chinese carrier is also looking to develop new routes in Eastern Europe. The Shanghai-Prague service will be launched early next month (see story here).
