25 Feb 2016 by BusinessTraveller

Oman Air is to add a second daily service between Heathrow and Muscat from April 12.

Business Traveller was alerted to the move by airlineroute.net, and can confirm that the flights are now available to book at omanair.com.

The new service WY104 will depart Heathrow at 0825, landing into Muscat at 1850, with the return leg WY103 leaving Oman at 0125 and landing into London at 0630.

The carrier’s existing Heathrow service WY102 departs at 2050, landing into Muscat at 0720 the following day, with the return leg WY101 leaving Oman at 1400 and landing into London at 1905.

It was recently reported that Oman Air paid a record $75 million for an extra pair of slots at Heathrow airport.

The carrier recently took delivery of its first B787-8 Dreamliner, although the carrier will operate an A330 aircraft on the new London-Muscat frequency.

British Airways also offers a daily service on the route, using its B787-9, with departures from London Heathrow at 0940, and from Muscat at 0035, stopping enroute at Abu Dhabi.
