Shaheen Air to launch Manchester-Islamabad service

Manchester airport is to gain a new route to Pakistan’s capital Islamabad.

Shaheen Air will offer a three times-weekly service to Benazir Bhutto International airport from March 15.

The new route will be served by A330-200 aircraft, with flights departing Manchester on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 2200, arriving into Islamabad at 1830 the following day.

Shaheen Air previously operated flights between Islamabad and Leeds Bradford airport for a short period in 2008.

Commenting on the new service Raza Channa, UK Country Manager for Shaheen Air said: “We are proud to announce the return of Shaheen Air to the UK by launching direct flights between Manchester and Islamabad. We are pleased to offer a fantastic service at the lowest fare and maximum baggage allowance of two piece 60kgs.”

The carrier also plans to launch flights to Copenhagen, Oslo, Milan, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok “in the near future”.
