Air India Express, the budget arm of India’s national carrier Air India will begin four flights per week from Kozhikode, March 28 to Ras Al Khaimah.

The airline plans to make this a daily service in the near future.

“India has strong ties with Ras Al Khaimah for the business and leisure markets, going both ways” said Ras Al Khaimah International’s chief executive officer Mohammed Qazi.

“We are confident that the route will be a great success, as the market already exists and is growing. We hope to see Air India Express grow its footprint in the northern emirates, both in terms of frequencies and routes,”

The low-cost subsidiary of Air India is planning to add more flights to the Gulf region from New Delhi, Mumbai and Kozhikode in the near future.
