Singapore-listed property developer Oxley Holdings Limited has appointed Accorhotels to manage two new properties in the capital of Malaysia – the So Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Hotel and the So Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Residences.
Both the hotel and serviced residence are slated to open in 2020, and will be part of a large-scale, mixed-use development that includes an office tower, retail mall and two other luxury hotels with residences. It will be located in the central business district, and be within walking distance of the Petronas Towers and the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
So Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Hotel will feature 207 guestrooms, and include four F&B outlets, a swimming pool with deck and terrace, spa, fitness centre, business centre and several function and event spaces. The property will also have designated club rooms, with guests given access to the Club Lounge.
Meanwhile, the 590-room So Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Residences will offer a lounge area, fitness centre with studio and yoga room, two swimming pools, a games room, kids’ playground, a function room and a sky garden foyer area on the roof where residents can have a barbecue with the Kuala Lumpur skyline as a backdrop.
As a serviced residence, guests will also receive housekeeping and laundry services, and concierge services provided by So Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Hotel.
“We are pleased to work with Accorhotels and its renowned So Sofitel brand to design a hotel and a residence that will stand apart from more traditional luxury properties,” said Ching Chiat Kwong, chairman and chief executive of Oxley.
“Accorhotels will bring almost 50 years of expertise to the project to attract a more international audience and provide a guarantee of quality.”
