Wyndham Hotel Group has expanded its presence in Southeast Asia with the signing of a new franchised Ramada property in Malaysia.
The four-star Ramada Resort Lumut, due to open in 2018, is a RM455 million (US$110 million) project owned and developed by Kinta Berkat SDN BHD.
It will be located on the west coast of Malaysi, about three hours from Kuala Lumpur or one-and-a-half hours from Penang. Alternatively, it will be accessible from Sultan Azlan Shah Airport in Ipol and the soon-to-be completed West Coast Expressway.
Situated next to a forest reserve with panoramic views of the Straits of Malacca, the property will feature 170 guestrooms, 269 residential and serviced apartments, as well as seven forest villas complete with plunge pools and a spa.
A four-storey podium will house a series of multi-function rooms plus a banquet hall that can accommodate up to 350 people. The structure will be hidden behind a three-storey waterfall.

President and managing director of Wyndham Hotel Group Southeast Asia and Pacific Rim, Barry Robinson, said Ramada Resort Lumut will cater to both the leisure market and MICE delegates looking for accommodation and events facilities.
