Langham to manage three new properties in US

29 Jan 2016 by Clement Huang

Langham Hotels and Resorts has signed on to manage three new hotels in the US – Langham Place, Wade Park in Frisco, Texas; Langham Place, San Francisco; and The Langham, Bishop’s Lodge Santa Fe in New Mexico.

All three properties will be positioned in the luxury hotel tier of Langham Hospitality Group, representing two styles: The Langham, which offers classic elegance and traditional décor; and the more contemporary Langham Place.

First up is the Langham Place, Wade Park, which will open in early 2018 as part of the US$1.6 billion Wade Park development by Thomas Land & Development. Covering 35 floors, the new Langham Place will include 25 hotel floors and 10 residential floors. The hotel will consist of 250 guestrooms, including several one- and two-bedroom suites as well as two presidential suites measuring 269 sqm each.

Other facilities include more than 2,300 sqm of meeting space, a rooftop pool deck, full-service bar and a courtyard, which can be used for outdoor events. Langham’s signature Chuan Body + Soul spa will also be available, and offer a menu of body and facial treatments based on Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Next on the list is The Langham, Bishop’s Lodge, Santa Fe, which was formerly the historic Bishop’s Lodge resort. A multimillion-dollar renovation is currently planned, with plans to reopen the property in spring 2018. All existing rooms and public areas will be demolished and remodelled to expand the hotel to 139 rooms and suites. It will be Langham’s first resort in the US, and include private stables and trails for horseback riding.

Rounding things up is the Langham Place, San Francisco, which will mark the brand’s entry into the popular Californian city. The hotel will be part of the new Transbay Transit Centre Project, which aims to become the “Grand Central Station of the West” when it is completed later this year. The US$4.5 billion project, located at the intersection of First and Mission Streets, will encompass 11 separate local and regional transit systems. Langham Hotels and Resorts will bring its new hotel to the development in 2019.

“We have chosen three exciting destinations in the US in which to expand the Langham Hotels and Resorts portfolio," said Robert Warman, chief executive officer of Langham Hospitality Group.

“Thanks to our successful hotels in the US, as well as our celebrated locations in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Shanghai, our brand awareness among luxury travellers has never been stronger. With these three new additions, we will continue to offer our guests a diversity of experiences in North America.”
