Starwood signs first Luxury Collection hotel in Tokyo

25 Jan 2016 by Clement Huang

Starwood Hotels and Resorts will debut its first Tokyo property under The Luxury Collection brand this coming July.

The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho, owned by Prince Hotels, is part of the central Chiyoda municipality, and is within close proximity of some of Tokyo’s best known attractions, including Shimizudani Park and Benkei Canal.

The nearest metro link is at the Akasaka-mitsuke station, which is a five-minute walk away and connects to the popular districts of Ginza, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro and Shibuya in 20 minutes.

The hotel itself is part of a mixed-use development, Tokyo Garden Terrace, and is housed on the 30th to 36th floor of the tower. Designed by Rockwell Group Europe, The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho will consist of 250 guestrooms, including 11 suites. Club rooms will be offered, with guests enjoying access to the club lounge.

The 35th floor will feature a signature bar with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city. Other F&B options available in the hotel include an all-day venue and speciality restaurants. A bistro-style French restaurant is also located within the Tokyo Garden Terrace building.

The hotel will also offer more than 272 sqm of function and meeting space, as well as an indoor pool, fitness centre, spa, and business centre.

“We are confident that The Luxury Collection brand’s unique and refined offerings will perfectly complement the hallmarks of The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho,” said Rajit Sukumaran, senior vice president, acquisition and development, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Asia Pacific.

“In addition to being the first Starwood luxury brand in Tokyo, the signing of The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho showcases our commitment to Japan’s compelling and dynamic travel market.”
